During the winter of 2007 MACE worked closely secondary school history teachers to produce web resources for Key Stage 3 teachers and learners. The activities draw on two titles from MACE's collections and should be seen as an introduction to the potential use of archive film in the classroom.
The results of this work now appear, in full, on EM Source, an East Midlands resource for teachers and learners while the MACE site hosts the clips from the titles as well as outline descriptions of the suggested activites. The activities are deliberately non-prescriptive, acting as an introduction to the use of moving image in history teaching at KS3.
The activities are based on two titles from MACE's collections: [ATV Today: 08.05.1975: VE Day Anniversary Vox Pop] and [ATV Today: 06.06.1969: D-Day Vox Pop] .
