Watch the film and ask pupils to develop a senses mind map of what the person filming the event might have seen, smelt, heared, touched and tasted.

Pupils may wish to create their own senses mind map but you can also download one here if necessary.

Suggested activity 2 - Story boarding

Use the information from the mind map to create either a storyboard or a newspaper report.

If required you can download a storyboard template here.

Suggested activity 3 - Empathy

Watch the film again and ask the students to consider:

How different people may have felt about the fire
What dramatic events they have witnessed in their own lives
The kind of people that keep them safe today
